Excised from vintage nonfiction manuals, primers, and scientific texts, the scattered phrases and vocabulary reveal our vulnerability. Even as we strive to dispassionately classify clouds according to color, behavior, and movement, we can’t help but reveal how it feels to stand beneath them. The numbers that we count and the conclusions we draw from them are an attempt to quantify our experience and keep track of our lives, as we formulate methods to pass our experience on to the next generation.
